Teen & Child Therapy

A therapist your kid might actually talk to

I provide telehealth therapy for young people ages 10 and up anywhere in Ohio. I taught school for 7 years before becoming a counselor, so I know how kids talk, how schools work, and how much pressure both can create.

Who this is for

  • Kids and teens dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, or big feelings that come out sideways
  • Students struggling with school stress, learning differences, or executive functioning
  • Neurodivergent young people who need an affirming adult who is not grading them
  • Teens navigating identity, friendships, and a phone-shaped social world

How I work

  • First a free consult with you, the parent. Then sessions become your kid's space, with agreed check-ins so you are not in the dark.
  • I keep it real with young people. Humor is allowed. Silence is allowed. I am not the assistant principal.
  • For ages 10 to 12 I recommend a parent nearby during telehealth sessions, and I will be honest if I think in-person care or a higher level of support would serve your child better.

Fees

Sessions are $100 for 50 minutes, paid through Ivy Pay (cash, credit, debit, HSA, or FSA). I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Details on the fees page.

Questions people ask

Does telehealth work for kids?

For most kids 10 and up, yes, especially when sessions happen from their own room where they feel safe. Younger children usually do better with in-person play therapy, and I will refer you if that is the better fit.

Will you tell me what my child says in session?

I protect your child's privacy so they will actually talk, and I always tell you if there is a safety concern. We agree on how updates work during the parent consult, so nothing about the process is a surprise.

My teen refuses therapy. Now what?

Start with a supportive parenting session instead. Working with you changes the system your teen lives in, and a surprising number of reluctant teens get curious once therapy is not being done to them.

Not sure if I am the right fit? That is exactly what the free consult is for.

Fifteen minutes, no pressure, no paperwork. You ask questions, I answer honestly, and if I am not the right therapist for you I will help you find someone who is.
