Therapy from wherever in Ohio you are

Connected Roots Counseling is a fully telehealth practice. We meet by secure video, which means your therapist is no longer limited to whoever happens to office within 20 minutes of your house. If you are located in Ohio, from Cleveland to Columbus to a township no map labels, we can work together.

Why telehealth, honestly

No commute, no waiting room, no rearranging your day around traffic. You meet from the space where you feel most yourself, which is often where the real talking happens. For my neurodivergent clients, controlling your own sensory environment is not a perk, it is the difference between masking through a session and actually being in one.

Telehealth is not the right fit for everyone, and I will say so when it is not. Children under 8, some crisis situations, and some clinical needs are better served in person, and I will help you find that care.

More than a talking head on a screen

Telehealth can include art, music, hands-on activities, games, and processing through play, not just talking. I adapt activities to your space and what you have available. Kids and pre-teens typically have supportive parenting woven in; for ages 8 to 12, I recommend a parent nearby.

Parents can also meet with me on their own. Couples, families, friends, and other small groups can work on communication and conflict together, with clear agreements about participation and privacy. Organizational conflict and change support starts with a separate conversation about scope and format. Explore the eight ways we can work together.

Who can do telehealth therapy with Connected Roots?

Anyone physically located in the state of Ohio during their sessions, ages 8 and up. Ohio licensure rules require that clients be in Ohio when we meet, and I confirm your location at the start of each session.

What do I need for a telehealth session?

A device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private-ish space. Sessions run through my secure, HIPAA-compliant practice platform. A parked car, a bedroom, or an office with the door shut all work.

What happens if the technology fails mid-session?

We have a plan before we ever need it. If video drops, I call you at the phone number on file and we finish by phone or reschedule the remaining time. You will never lose paid time to a bad connection.

Is telehealth private?

Sessions run through a HIPAA-compliant platform, not consumer video apps, and I take your confidentiality as seriously online as I would in an office. Your half of privacy is a space where you can speak freely. Headphones help. So does a white noise machine outside the door, a trick I happily teach parents.

Not sure if I am the right fit? That is exactly what the free consult is for.

Fifteen minutes, no pressure, no paperwork. You ask questions, I answer honestly, and if I am not the right therapist for you I will help you find someone who is.
